The Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme, launched by odisha government, will remain as a mile stone in the economic development of the state, chief minister Naveen Patnaik said.
While speaking at a farmers’ rally in Puri today organised to handover the money in first phase to more than 12 lakh farmers through the direct benefit transfer (DBT), Patnaik said that the scheme would show path to the whole country. Asserting that nobody can stop the scheme, the chief minister said, “The journey of KALIA started after seeking the blessings of Lords at Puri and no one can stops its journey.”
Patnaik said 92 per cent of the farmers in the state would be benefited by the scheme adding that people all over the country were appreciating it as a good scheme. The chief minister said under the scheme all farmers of the state, particularly small farmers, share croppers and agricultural workers would be benefited. A sum of Rs.5,000 would be directly transferred to the accounts of the farmers in Khariff and Rabi crop. Patnaik said KALIA scheme was launched as he wanted the farmers to live well. One time help would not solve their problem. The scheme provides the assistance to the farmers in all crop season.Under the scheme the farmers would get assistance six times in next three years, he said
