New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday named 112 people, including folk artist Teejan Bai, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, former MP Karia Munda, late writer and journalist Kuldeep Nayar, mountaineer Bachhedri Pal and actor Manoj Bajpayee for Padma awards for their contribution in various fields.While four persons were named for Padma Vibhushan, 14 were named for Padma Bhushan and 94 for Padma Shri. Apart from Teejan Bai, Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti, Anilkumar Manibhai Naik and Balwant Moreshwar Purandare were named for the second highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan.Among others named for Padma Bhushan were social activist Darshan Lal Jain, former civil servant V K Shunglu and BJP MP Hukumdeo Narayan Yadav.The 94 Padma Shri awardees included former Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar, sportsperson Sunil Chhetri, cricketer Gautam Gambhir, actor and theatre artist Dinyar Contractor, painter Godawari Dutta, , Surgeon Sandeep Guleria, late film actor Kader Khan, playback singer Shankar Mahadevan, wrestler Bajrang Punia and educationist Devendra Swaroop.
