Naveen releases BJD manifesto, promises to continue Kalia scheme

Ruling BJD will initiate steps for the empowerment of  farmers, women, youth and for the joint upliftment of habitations and  regions if voted to power, BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik  said here today.

The Manifesto  promised to form Special Development Councils (SDC) in eight districts  and three Sub Divisions to reduce regional imbalance, continue the KALIA  scheme, constitute a commission to monitor the implementation of the  KALIA scheme, provide crop loan up to Rs one lakh at zero per cent  interest.

Mr Patnaik  said the KALIA  Scheme would continue and all farmers and landless agricultural  labourers would be covered under Kalia scheme. An Assistance of Rs  10,000 per year for farmers and Rs 12,000 for landless labourers will be  provided.

The manifesto promised to  set up  KALIA Commission to monitor KALIA implementation and to  recommend revision of rates after three years. Crop loans would be  provided at zero per cent interest up to Rs one lakh to the farmers.

It  also promised to reserve 75 per cent jobs in all upcoming industries in  Odisha for youths and provide Rs 5,000 crore government business to  women SHG  so that the SHGs will earn a profit of about Rs 500 crore.

Releasing  the party manifesto for 2019 election, Mr Patnaik took a dig at the BJP  saying unlike BJP ”we have implemented all promises made in 2014.”

But  the BJP, Mr Patnaik  said has failed to implement its promise made in  2014  which included  according to Special category status to Odisha,  double the SC/ST students scholarship, provide Rs 5 lakh to each SHG, Rs  1000 pension to widows, Slum dwellers rehabilitation policy, setting up  of world-class hospitals in each district.

But on the contrary BJD has fulfilled its promises, the  BJD supremo said.

He  said the BJD election manifesto for 2019 was prepared as per the  suggestions received from every section of people from across the state  during a program carried out by the party over the last two months.

The  people demanded that all pro-people schemes of the BJD government like   KALIA,  Biju Swsthya Kalyan Yojana, Mission Shakti, Ama gaon Ama  Vikash, Peeta, Rs 1 kg rice should continue.

People  also suggested that 2014 manifesto should be the base for 2019  manifesto and should be followed up so.The BJD, Mr Patnaik said will  abide by the suggestions received from people.
