Pakistan’s Prime Minister and former cricket captain Imran Khan, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and cricketing fraternity have expressed grief over death of former spin great Abdul Qadir.

Qadir passed away in Lahore on Friday due to cardiac arrest. He was 63.”Pakistan Cricket Board is shocked at the news of ‘maestro’ Abdul Qadir’s passing and has offered its deepest condolences to his family and friends, the Board wrote on its official twitter handle.”

“I have lost a good friend and a wonderful cricketer who served the country so well,” Imran said in his condolence message.”Remember playing against Abdul Qadir, one of the best spinners of his times. My heartfelt condolences to his family,” Tendulkar tweeted.

“Shocked to hear Abdul Qadir passed away. Met him two years back he was full of energy as always. A champion bowler, Great human being,you will be missed forever..condolences to the family,” Harbhajan tweeted.

Qadir, played in 67 Test matches scalping 236 wickets with economy of 2.71 while in ODIs from 104 matches he picked 132 wickets with economy of 4.06 In 1st class from 209 matches had 960 wickets with 2.75 economy and in List A from 141 innings had 202 wickets with 3.99 economy. (UNI)
