Former BJP Minister Shatrughan Sinha, who joined Congress on the eve of general elections, on Wednesday said the deceased Sushma Swaraj was truly a Prime Minister material.
“She was a Prime Minister material. People like Balasaheb Thackeray wanted her to be Prime Minister…Nahi bani yeh alag baat hae (That she did not become one is a different story),” the actor-turned-politician told a private TV channel.
Asked to dedicate one song for Sushma Swaraj, who had replaced him as the Union Health Minister under Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shatrughan Sinha said: “It can be only one song I remember, it was sung by Mukesh -janey waley ho sakey to laut ke aana”.
Sinha said it will be very difficult to fill the void created by Late Swaraj’s death.
The former Patna Sahib lawmaker also said at times she used to say, “at any cost, even if people pull me out, I will not quit BJP”.
