Former minister and KPCC working president Eshwar Khandre on Tuesday expressed confidence that Congress would win all 15 seats in the by-elections due in December next month and predicted that the BJP government led by Mr B S Yedyurappa would fall after the by-polls.
Addressing the press persons here today Mr Khandre said “These 15 by- election seats were the strongholds of the Congress. The people will vote considering the history and background of the Congress and not on the basis of the individual leaders,” he said . He said that the rebel legislators, who had helped bring down the last coalition government , were in such deep trouble now that they regretted resigning from the state assembly.
“These legislators had dreamt of getting plum posts, but the BJP has given them a rude shock and they are deeply regretting their actions. They have told me so themselves,” he said. Mr Khandre asserted that after the by-polls the Congress government alliance with JD (S) would come to power or Mid – term Assembly polls will be declared in the state. (UNI)
