Two police Sub-Inspectors were killed while a constable and their driver were injured in a road accident under Jamauli police station area of the district on Friday. Police sources said a car, in which Sub-Inspectors were travelling, was hit by a truck coming from opposition direction at around 0430 hrs.
SIs Nityanand Yadav and Rajkumar Yadav, both posted at Chiliya police station in Sidharthnagar district along with a police constable and the driver, were going to Prayagraj.
While both the SIs died on the spot, the constable and the driver were critically injured and have been rushed to the hospital.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his grief over the death of two SIs in the accident and has directed the district authorities to provide treatment to the injured. (UNI)
