Ayodhya verdict: Security tightened in Marathwada region

The law enforcement authorities have boosted security across the eight districts of Marathwada region, ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya case on Saturday.

All the police top brass officials including Aurabgabad City police Commissioner and Superintendents of Police of seven districts in the region already taken security measures in this regard by addressing press conferences in their respective districts .

Commissioner of Aurangabad city Chiranjeev Prasad said that 3500 policemen and 300 top police officials were deployed in the city. Aprart from the local police, CRPF and SRP platoons also keep ready to maintain law and order situation across the city and around city.

Rural SP Mokshada Patil said that security is tightened in rural pockets in view of the judgement.

Police officials already organised meetings with spiritual gurus, political leaders and elders from different walks of life in this regard and appealed to maintain law and order.

Those who are trying to send objectionable and fake information on social media will be booked under the section of 188 IPC, he said.

Police keeping a close watch on social media sites and necessary arrangements have been made to ensure safety and security of religious places, he added.

Police will also initiate strict legal action against those found indulging in any activity which may adversely affect the peace and tranquillity of the society, a senior police officer said.
