Bollywood celebrities on Saturday welcomed the decision of Narendra Modi government to confer Padma Shri on actor Manoj Bajpayee.
President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday announced the names 112 people, including folk artist Teejan Bai, late writer and journalist Kuldeep Nayar and actor Manoj Bajpayee for Padma awards, for their contribution in various fields.
While four persons were named for Padma Vibhushan, 14 were named for Padma Bhushan and 94 for Padma Shri.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Rajkummar Rao said, ‘Congratulations,@BajpayeeManoj Sir on winning the esteemed Padma Shri. I am so fortunate to have had the chance to share screen space with you. Your valour & dedication is inspiring. Ever onward!’
