The Bombay High Court on Monday quashed criminal defamation case proceedings against industrialist Ratan Tata, private company Tata Sons current chairperson N Chandrasekharan and its eight directors in a criminal defamation case filed by businessman Nusli Wadia. The High Court’s Division Bench of Justices Ranjit More and Bharati Dangre quashed all criminal proceedings against them.
Mr Wadia, chairman of Wadia group, has filed a case against Mr Tata and others for allegedly making defamatory statements against him after Cyrus Mistry was removed as the chairman of the Tata group in 2016. In December 2018, a local court in Mumbai has issues notices to them.
