Two tribal girls sold in name of marriage

Ambassa, Jul 22 (UNI) Two school student tribal girls were sold in Delhi in the name of marriage and job as the parents lodged complaint with local police station in the bordering subdivision of Gandacharra in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai here,on Monday. Fathers of two tribal girls, Balyajoy and Shasanjoy from Pancharatan village under Gandacharra police station in the bordering subdivision, lodged a complaint against one Jiten of Boalkhali village under neighbouring Raisyabari police station.

According to the complaint, Jiten married the daughter of Balyajoy identified as Dahapati Tripura(23), recently. He took her along with the daughter of Shasanjoy identified as Shanti Rani promising her a job in Delhi.The trio left for Tripura on 29th of June. Both Dahapati and Shanti Rani were the students of local schools.On 18th of this month, Shanti Rani informed her parents over telephone from Delhi that Jiten sold both the girls in Delhi, following which a complaint was lodged.Investigation has been taken up.
