Congress, starved of power, has become ‘Money Hungry’ Modi

PM to address election rally today

Gangavati, Karnataka, Apr 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today came down heavily against Congress and its coalition Partner Janata Dal(S) in Karnataka alleging that the two parties had taken corruption in the government to the next level and Congress which was starved of power has become ‘money hungry’.

Speaking at ‘Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra’ to woo the voters of North Karnataka where second and final phase of polling in Karnataka is slated for April 28, he said the Congress-JD(S) coalition government had become ’20 per cent Commission’ government, much worse than the ’10 per cent’ by previous Congress government.

‘’Their mission is only Commission. Even the newly formed Congress governments, like the one in Madhya Pradesh, have turned so corrupt that funds meant for supply of ‘Mid Day’ meal to poor children and women is being looted and sent to Delhi. Now we are made to suffer the latest scam ‘Tughlak Road scam’ where the money meant for the poor is flowing into,’’ he alleged.

Modi slammed Congress and JD(S) for promoting family politics and alleged that the two party leaders had no concern for common people and had even demeaned the Indian armed forces.

‘’If you ask them to choose between family and the nation, the two party leaders always choose their own families. These we are witnessing in Karnataka as grandchildren (of H D Devegowda) are made party candidates giving scant respect to the feelings of the people.

‘’It is a shame that Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has said that youth who do not have means to earn two meals a day were joining armed forces. Is this the way you pay tribute to Jawans who sacrifice their lives to safeguard the country by staying in at extreme weather condition like heat, cold or deep seas. Nobody will pardon you (Kumaraswamy) even if you say that you was misquoted in the media,’’ he said.

He said these people who were born with a silver spoon in the mouth cannot understand the challenges faced by the people serving in the armed forces. Both the parties had no regard for the army or common people and this was the reason there were so many scams.

‘’People like (Ottavio) Quattrocchi and (Christian) Michel thrive when family interest takes over national interest. People are carefully watching. They will defeat such forces and elect BJP again to power,’’ he said. (UNI)
