Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JDS-Congress Coalition Government Coordination Committee Chairman Siddaramaiah on Friday said that no one should take political advantage from country’s security and there should be no politics involved and political parties should not involve or try to take mileage.
Speaking to reporters here, he welcomed Pakistan’s move to release IAF wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured by Pakistan army on Wednesday. “It was responsibility of the country to safe guard the people and no one should use military actions for their gains”, he added.
When asked about Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly and BJP State President BS Yeddyurappa’s claim that the Pulwama attack would benefit BJP in upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Siddaramaiah said, Yeddyurappa should not have politicised the issue. Safety of the country, people and the welfare of the soldiers are much important than politics.
Mr Siddaramiah was here to hold talks with workers to assess opinion for selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in the region. (UNI)
