Guv flags off Metro rail service to Hi-Tech city

The much-awaited 10 kms Ameerpet-Hi-Tech city metro rail service in Hyderabad became operational on Wednesday. The two Telugu states common Governor E.S.L.Narasimhan flagged off the service at a simple ceremony here .
To begin with, the frequency of the trains on the route will be 9-12 minutes as against six minutes in other metro corridors. The new service will be a boon to passengers travelling towards the Hi-Tech city.
The Hyderabad Metro project covering three most dense corridors of the city spanning across 72 kms with 64 stations is the world’s largest metro rail project being executed in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with a project cost of Rs.14,132 crore.
