With 13 fresh cases of Swine Flu detected in the state till Thursday number of H1NI case went up to 138 in the state, senior officer of Health Department said.
Dr. Sonum Negi, State Communicable disease and Surveillance officer said that during last 24 hrs out of 38 tested samples 13 found to be positive for H1N1.
He said that so far 395 influenza patients have undergone clinical trail and 138 found positive for the swine flu.
Out of total 138 H1N1 cases, 42 cases were detected in Kangra and 38 in Shimla, 15 in Mandi, 10 in Solan, 9 in Hamirpur, 8 in Bilspur, 6 in Chamba, 3 each in Una, Kullu,Sirmuar and one from state of Haryana.
Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha speaker Rajiv Bindal was found positive of swine flu at IGMC including six new positive cases detected for H1N1 on Thursday. About 18 patients are suffering with the deadly influenza in the Hospital .
Swine flu had been taken 16 lives in the state including 5 in Kangra, 3 in Mandi, 2 each Una, Hamirpur and 1 each in Bilaspurand Solan. Seven patients succumbed in the IGMC so far.
State recorded 2 death due to swine flu in 2018,15 in 2017, 5 in 2016 and 7 in 2015.
The influenza spread through virus surfaced first time in 2009. He said that world health organisation (WHO) did not consider this as epidemic as the new guidelines issued by the WHO placed swine
flu in outbreak category.
The government is providing free of cost treatment for swine flu in IGMC, Tanda Medical college and Central Research Kender in Kasouli and Tamiflu tablets are made available to the patients.
The department issuing advisory to the people time to time after outbreak cases are pouring in large number in the state .(UNI)
