Chilika: INS Chilka, Indian Navy’s premier ab initio training establishment celebrated the completion of 42 years of yeoman service to the Navy and the nation on February 21.
Since its commissioning on 21 Feb 1980, the alma mater of sailors has evolved in leaps and bounds keeping abreast with latest training methodologies and technological developments.
The traditional Cake Cutting Ceremony was held on February 21 with the junior most sailor of the Unit joining the Commanding Officer, Cmde NP Pradeep, in cutting the anniversary cake prior commencement of the Station Barakhana.
Earlier, the Unit had conducted Annivesary Walkathon in the build up to its celebrations which witnessed exuberant participation from all the members of the Unit. The entire Station community comprising Service Personnel, DSC, MES and Defence civilians along with their families actively and wholeheartedly participated in the Walkathon flagged off by the Commanding Officer, on February 19. Various sports activities were organised post completion of the Walkathon.
All activities were conducted under strict adherence to all COVID-19 protocols.
