BJP president Amit Shah on Friday iterated that it was the Narendra Modi Government, which played a pivotal role in bringing peace and development in the North East, where unrest was ruling the roost before the NDA rode to power at the Centre five years back.
“Five years back what was the situation of NE, it was under unrest and there was no development. After five years, Narendra Modi’s BJP government has brought peace and stability in the region. Today, NE is on the path of development,” said Mr Shah while addressing an election rally at Bordumsa in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The BJP president said that all the States of the NE is now connected with the train, road and air connectivity, adding, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of airport in the state capital Itanagar.
“For 40 years, there was no meeting of NEC(North East Council ) in NE. Morarji Desai was the only Prime Minister who came here for the NEC (North East Council ) meeting and after that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come for NEC meeting in Shillong and gave pace to the development of the NE region,” Mr Shah said.
He claimed that from Arunachal Pradesh to Kanyakumari , from Assam to Gujarat, people of the country have decided the next Government will be Narendra Modi’s Government as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done several works to bring changes in the country.
Mr Shah said that Modi Government has given Rs 50000 crore for development of roads in Arunachal Pradesh.
“If BJP voted to power, All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) will be set up in Arunachal Pradesh,” the BJP president promised. (UNI)
