Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday pooh poohed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claim that Odisha will witness a Tripura-like poll outcome in the coming elections.

Mr.Modi during his interaction with a fisherman in coastal Kendrapara district through video conferencing during “Main bhi Choukidar “programme yesterday asserted that the BJP will witness a Tripura like situation and capture power dislodging the 19- year rule of Naveen Patnaik government.

“ You will see that the BJD will do exceedingly well in the elections”,Mr.Patnaik remarked.

To a question when the party will announce the candidates in the rest three Lok Sabha and 19 Assembly seats, the BJD supremo said the list will be declared soon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who kick started the election campaign of BJP in Odisha in the tribal dominated Koraput district on March 29 last, said he was overwhelmed and impressed by the enthusiasm shown by huge gatherings at his Jeypore election rally.

The BJP this time has focused Odisha and party national president Amit Shah had announced a 120 plus mission to throw the Naveen Patnaik government and capture power in the state.

Mr.Shah during his first election rally in South Odisha today appealed to the people to give the BJP a chance to serve the state saying that the Naveen Patnaik government had miserably failed to fulfill the aspiration of the people during its 19- years rule.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to address two more election rallies in Odisha during this week, the first being on April 2 in Kalahandi and another rally in Sundargarh on April 6 next in support of the party candidates. (UNI)
