BJP National President Amit Shah today appealed to people to throw away the corrupt Naveen Patnaik government and give a chance to BJP for all round development of Odisha.
Addressing a huge Bijay Sanklap Samabaseh meeting at Sidhabadaganga in Kasinagar block of Gajapati district in south Odisha, Shah appealed to the people to vote for BJP for the development of the state, security of the country and to effectively counter the terrorists.
The BJP President asked the people to take a pledge to throw away the corrupt BJD government in Odisha and make Narendra Modi as Prime Minister again winning the election with a huge margin.
Mr Shah said the BJD government led by Mr Naveen Patnaik failed to make development in the state even though it remained in power for 19 long years. The government, he said failed to provide drinking water and health care to people of the state.
He said, around 30,000 Odia people are working in Surat away from their homes and parents and contributing for the development of Gujarat and the country since the Odisha government could not provide job opportunities for them.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the BJP President alleged has also shown step motherly attitude to the Western and Central Odisha. No irrigation project was implemented in the region and the tribals were not given even the rights over their land.
There was rampant corruption in every field. Even the Ratna Bhandar of Lord Jagannath temple in Puri was not spared and the BJD government failed to protect it.
During the 19 years rule, Mr Patnaik has done nothing for the state except indulging in corruption, he said.
The BJP President further had a dig at the Chief Minister alleging that the Rs 5.5 lakh crore assistance given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of the state did not reach the needy people as the officers of the government stood on its way.
Mr Shah asked the people of the state to give one chance to BJP this time as they have already given BJD to rule the state for 20 years and the Congress for 50 years.
He promised to make Odisha a number one state in the country in five years and ensure that people from Odisha would no longer migrate to Surat in search of job.
Mr Shah said the Odisha state was formed on the basis of language on this day today due to the efforts of great sons of the soil like Gopabandhu Choudhury, Malati Choudhury but unfortunately the Chief Minister who is in power for 19 years could not speak in Odia.
He appealed to the people to chose an young Chief Minister who can speak in their language, share their woes and solve the problems.
Referring to Samjhotha Express blast incident in which all the Hindus were set free by the court, Mr Shah slammed Congress President Rahul Gandhi for trying to defame the Hindus branding them as Hindu terrorists.
He said, Hindus think about the security of the country and cannot be terrorists.
In another election rally at Umerkote, the BJP President asked the people to take a pledge to form a BJP government in Odisha and make Narandra Modi Prime minister again. (UNI)
