At least eight people died on the spot and several injured when a truck crushed an auto in Dibiyapur area near Sauthar on Saturday, police said.
According to Police, all the deceased, who are yet to be identified, were teachers and going to their respective schools in Bela area.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, after the incident local villagers blocked the road and staged protest with the bodies.
Further investigations were underway, police added.
