Speaker Om Birla on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a modern Parliament building in tune with ‘New India’ and India completing 75 years of Independence in 1922.
As the Lok Sabha met for the day, Birla said Indian Parliament has completed 75 years. All important decisions are taken at this temple of democracy, the Speaker said, adding that with the passage of time, responsibilities have increased.
‘It is our expectation that the Parliament building of world’s biggest republic and largest democracy is made grand and attractive. For this, I urge the Prime Minister for a parliament building with modern facilities as the Country completes 75 years of Independence in 2022,’ he said.
