BJP MP from the North West Delhi Udit Raj on Tuesday expressed disappointment over denial of party ticket to contest Lok Sabha elections and said he felt like abandoned by the party.
He said he was denied party ticket despite performing well, being popular in his constituency and merging his party – Indian Justice Party with the BJP.
The party has given ticket to popular singer Hansraj Hans from North West Delhi.
Earlier in a tweet, Udit Raj had said that he might contest the poll as an independent candidate.
On Monday, accompanied by a large number of supporters, Udit Raj had reached the Delhi BJP office around midnight in a bid to pressure party to ensure ticket for himself.
He also tried to talk to BJP chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard but failed to get the party ticket from North West Delhi. (UNI)
