Veteran Bengali actor Swarup Dutta breathed his last today morning at 06:10 am. He was 78.
The actor had been hospitalised after he fell in his restroom. In the hospital, he suffered a brain stroke and a blood clot was detected in his brain. He was put under ventilation and doctors declared his condition was critical.
He had been experiencing age related health problems for a long time.
Swarup Dutta was an acclaimed actor of Bengali cinema. Born on June 22, 1941, Dutta graduated in Economics from St.Xaviers’ College.
He got his break in Tapan Sinha’s ‘Apanjan’. Dutta went on to have a significant number of great exhibitions in films like Pita Putra, Sagina Mahato, Uphaar among many of his great performances over his career spanning more than three decades.
