Kalahandi’s self-taught and gifted rap singer Duleswar Tandi – better known as Rapper Dule Rocker on social media – made his debut in Odia film industry on Wednesday courtesy popular music director Prem Anand.

After Koraput lass Namita Meleka, it was the turn of the Kalahandi lad to have the much needed break through Ollywood’s most successful music-maker Prem Anand.

The song – Jio wala aunty – has been penned by journalist and award winner lyricist Subrat Swain.

Produced by Susant Kumar under Music Masti banner, the song has been scheduled for yet-to-be-titled film, Anand informed.

Swarnarekha, a singer from Sundargarh and popular Odia singer Ashutosh have also lent their voice in the song.

Beaming a smile of utmost joy and victory, the rising rap-singer profoundly thanked Prem Anand for the ‘unexpected surprise’ from Ollywood.

A science graduate, the tribal boy had dreamt of becoming a doctor. But poverty and untimely death of his father forced him to be a migrant labourer.

He was working in a restaurant in Raipur city but had to return to his village upon outbreak of corona crisis.

He observed the painful plight of the migrant workers that resulted due to the sudden and cruel lock-down situation. And that brought out his hit songs like “Telling the Truth” and “Suno Sarkar” going viral and making him a sensation overnight.

His raps have arrested the attention of entertainment industry’s celebrities like Vishal Dadlani, Priyanka Chopra, Swara Bhaskar and Nila Madhab Panda.

Many have started referring him to the character of Murad played by Ranvir Singh in Bollywood movie Gully Boy.
