Modi hopes lotus to bloom in Odisha and mute the conch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today was unsparing in his attack on the Biju Janata Dal government in Odisha for its all round failures. Simultaneously he was equally critical of the Congress party for its faltering at several fronts including the duplicity in dealing with the problems across the border.

Modi was seen caught in a state of confusion over directly naming the Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik in his entire speech and took the shelter in the metaphors. His entire deliberation was a kind of reiteration of his earlier swipes at the Naveen-led government and the principal focus however remained was the appeal to vote for the Bharatiya  Janata Party and let ‘Lotus’ bloom in Odisha and help a strong government in the state.

In contrast to his 2014 takeaway of the ‘chaiwala’ this time the prime minister tried to play up the ‘chowkidar’ card time and again, which ostensibly showed the prime minister’s desperation to cash in on that as a vote-catcher.

In a surprising inclusion of the names of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani , Modi tried to score some points over his critics on the party foundation day today and remember the duo for their contribution in strengthening the ideals of the BJP.

His sign off was the sloganeering of the ‘chowkidar’ card in a bid to allude that it is only his leadership that can ensure vigil over the wrong doers both at the national and the state level.
