Following party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal addressing his party workers at the Punjabi Bagh Club here on Sunday said that we had to accept the people’ s mandate and work hard for the upcoming assembly elections in the capital.
Mr Kejriwal told the volunteers to not feel demoralised due to the defeat. “You all have worked very hard. Do not feel demotivated. It is important to have patience and the ability to face failure in public life,” he said.
The Chief Minister reiterated about the works done by the Delhi government in the sectors like education and health and said, “In the upcoming Assembly polls, its a time to tell people that they should vote for the work done.”
He reminded people of party’s strengths that is honesty and said that the party had not deviated from its values.
AAP chief also raised the issue of raids by the Central agencies against the ministers of the AAP. “Despite raids from central government agencies nothing at fault has been found on the party’s front,” he said.
Kejriwal had called a meeting of Delhi state unit volunteers . The meeting was called to interact and discuss the future course of action of the party with volunteers. Delhi will have Assembly polls later this year or in early 2020.
