In an act of not providential blessing but an act of human bravery by a cop that a man was just dragged away from the jaws of death. A video that has gone viral showed that a man while falling from a train was pulled to safety by a RPF man at the eleventh moment to escape death. The video available from the CCTV revealed how the railway police showed the extraordinary physical reflex to drag the man from falling between the moving train.

After a series of cloning of Credit and Debit cards now the looters are on a prowl to clone Sim cards and loot money. Sim it is common that people resort to SIM swapping in which a Pune man was duped of Rs.93.5 lakhs. The victim has revealed that the looter identified himself as an Airtel employee and fooled him.

Abheejit Ayer Mitra’s ordeals are far from over. He has to present himself before the Assembly in the winter session starting from tomorrow. Even after his appearance before the House Committee headed by the leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, his affidavit and an unconditional apology, things are yet far from over. Mitra faced charges of unwarranted and uncivil remarks against Sun Temple at Konark and his jibes at the MLAs for which he was summoned by the House Committee.

Iyer, now has to appear in the Assembly on the first day of the winter session starting from Friday. Mitra had been arrested by the Sahid Nagar police and remanded to judicial custody for acts under Section 294, 295 A, 153 A, 500 and 506 of the IPC and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act for his derogatory remarks.

An Odia film actor Elsa has brought forth a serious allegation against the director of the Odia film ‘Tume mo Suna chadhai’ (you are my golden bird) in which this actor plays the female lead. Elsa has alleged that the director of the film Dilip Panda has subjected her to several acts of harassment during the making of the film. She blasted at Panda at a hotel function heaping verbal abuses in the gathering and threatened to move the court.

Elsha has alleged that Panda used to be harsh in his dealings and words on the sets. Even a song was taken out from her and she virtually was reduced to a second fiddle in the film. The actor has threatened to initiate legal action against Panda.

Union minister Maneka Gandhi has expressed deep concern over the frequent deaths of wild elephants. In a letter to the chief minister Naveen Patnaik she has also referred the deaths of seven elephants in Dhenkanal and expressed shock that between 2011-2017 435 elephants died out of which 124 due to electrocution only. There is a terrible laclk of coordination between the concerned departments, Maneka said in the letter and sought direct intervention of the chief minister.

In response to a petition filed by a non government organisation the Delhi high court on Wednesday has sought Centre;s response on the plea for the removal of pictures or videos which are vulgar and sexually overt in the platforms like Amazon, Netflix and others.The online platforms give “vulgar, sexually explicit, pornographic and profane contents to attract subscribers.

She was in a state of inebriation and did what never expected from any civilized person. The incident took place in an Air-India flight on board when a woman passenger took to verbal abuse and allegedly spat on a crew’s face when she was denied more wine. After a prolonged agitation by the High Court lawyers protesting the physical assault on a lawyer the strike has been called off after the three police personnel tendered an unconditional apology in the High Court today. This was informed by the secretary of the Bar Association Srikant Nayak. From Thursday the lawyers will resume work.

Meanwhile, the Bar Association has decided in a meeting that to ward off any such unpleasant  incident or development in the future a body shall be formed which shall lay down the modalities as how to tackle with such situation .

Netaji kin Chandra Kumar Bose, now a BJP leader in West Bengal has given a proposal through a letter to the prime minister that the name of Nicobar Island be renamed as ‘Saheed & Swaraj’ islands as a mark of tribute to Netaji who was the ‘first minister of India when he had hoisted the national flag at Port Blair on December 30 1943’ Bose said in his letter.
