Odisha police has succeeded to arrest one Bodhisatwa Bhattacharya from Bhubaneswar who had allegedly robbed at the residence of Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta of cash and valuables. The accused had lodged himself in a city hotel in Bhubaneswar who had also tried to blackmail Sengupta for further cash to return the valuables. He will be produced before the court and will be taken on remand, say the police sources.
An ACP of the Delhi police, in a shocking incident, jumped from the 10th floor of the police head quarter in Delhi and committed suicide. The dead officer’s body was found in the porch of the building . Suspense continues as the investigation is underway to ascertain the real cause behind the suicide by the ACP, Prem Ballabh who was 55 year old.
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan has shot a letter to the chief minister Naveen Patnaik for quick initiatives towards the setting up of the plastic plant in Paradeep which is a joint venture of the state and the centre. Responding to an RTI query the UIDAI has asserted that the Adhaar card holder can lock his biometrics bou may not opt out of it which was suggested by the Supreme court two months back. The court in fact had directed that ones who had their cards before enforcement of the Adhaar Act should be given an option to opt out or exit Adhaar.
