The convict in the anti-Sikh riots of 1984, Yashpal Singh was awarded the death penalty by the Patiala House court on Tuesday while Naresh Sherawat got life imprisonment. According to reports the court pronounced the death sentence for Yashpal and life for Naresh on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots which had shaken the secular fabric of the national capital.

The CEO of Twiiter Jack Dorsey gets a rap on the knuckle for being part of a hate campaign. He was seen holding a placard in which it read ” Smash Brahminical Patriarchy”. The picture of Dorsey was taken during his visit to India. This did not go well with Mohandas Pai, former Infosys director who demanded an apology from Jack. To this author Advaita Kala reacted saying that ‘when you say twitter should be a space for healthy conversation shows how hollow those words are’.

Bollywood actor and former Miss India Nasifa Ali Sodhi has been detected with stage 3 cancer. The 61 year old actor has herself revealed it herself with a picture shot with Sonia Gandhi, on Instagram, in which she said that my friend has wished me to get well. Nasifa was known for her role in films like ‘Barfi’ and ‘Metro’.

This was revealed by an ex-commando Asif Mulani who was part of the team probing Kasab case post 26/11 that he was amazed to see that the Hindus and Muslims in the investigating team eating together. That perhaps speaks about the feeling against each other in Pakistani Muslims. ‘ He could not digest that we live here pecaefully’ told Mulani moved by a fit of anger what Kasab did in Mumbai.

Elsha Ghosh, who was in news a couple of days back for taking pot-shot at Odia film director Dilip Panda for alleged misconduct and mental torture, has suddenly gone back on her words saying it all happened in a heat of the moment and not any harassment from Panda. Panda, apparently to douse the fire told that he was angry with Elsha for not focusing on work.

In fact during an event the actress  who is from West Bengal acting in Odia films, had made serious charges against Panda alleging misconduct, harassment and mental torture during making of a film in Odia “tu mo suna chadhai” directed by Panda. She had lambasted at Panda during the event at a hotel and  threatened to sue Panda legally.

Relief at last for the loose-mouth journo AbhijeetIyer Mitra whom the Odisha Assembly has forgiven. Head of the special house committee Narasingha Mishra has informed. Iyet Mitra recently walked into trouble and humiliation because of  his perfidious utterances against the cultural value such as the Sun temple and jibes against legislators of Odisha .

Iyer incurred the wrath of Odias in general when through a video he dared to demean the artifice at the Sun temple but went on to say that the legislators of Odisha and people in general are lacking sense of humour. Iyer in fact had the audacity to interpret his diatribes against the state as humour and paid the price by being behind the bar . After the ambitious project of the prime minister Narendra Modi building the Sardar Patel statue at a cost of Rs.3000 crore, the Karnataka government has one in pipeline, structure of Mother Cauvery but with no money from the State coffer.Land is of the government but investors are  invited to build that structure spread over 200 acres. This project  will boost tourism. To be built at an estimated cost of Rs.1,2000 crore, it will have    two glass-towers, a museum complex providing a bird;s eye view to a reservoir, brand stand etc besides an indoor stadium . But the state government will not spend anything on the project.

It was a great sport of man who risked his own life to save many more. In Karnataka, in a village, when the man driving tractor loaded with hay with houses on both sides of a narrow road the tractor caught fire after touching an electric wire. Fearing that fire might spread he drove the tractor into a lake and avoided a big damage.

The prime minister of India Narendra Modi today challenged the democratic norms those govern the Congress party saying that let some one out of the Gandhi family head the party then it can be understood that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had created the Congress on a democratic foundation. Let it be at least five years, Modi added while addressing a election rally in Chhattisgarh. The prime minister has questioned the Congress that ket some one say in the four generations family leadership what the party has done.

The first day of the winter session of the State Assembly was adjourned for the day following a ruckus created by the Congress party over the fresh controversy surrounding Brahma Bibhrat . The Congress legislators have alleged that the government is trying whitewash the truth and suppress the facts which led to such violations during Nabakalebara.

Pune police has come out with revelations regarding a design by the Maoists to assassinate the prime minister Narendra Modi. The findings hint at the plans by the ultras to procure huge stock of arms to wage a war against the country, the Pune police made the disclosure in its charge sheet in the Elgar Parishad case which was filed on Thursday.

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu strongly positioning himself against the alleged misuse of the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has straight told the union government that the latter has no power to deploy the CBI in Andhra Pradesh without the consent of the State government. Naidu has allegedly told that the Centre is misusing the agency to serve it’s own purpose but in Andhra this will not be allowed any more.
