Actress Jenna Dewan has officially filed for divorce from actor Channing Tatum, six months after they announced their separation.

Dewan filed for divorce on Friday citing irreconcilable differences, reports mirror.co.uk.

“The Step Up” actress has also reportedly asked for joint legal and physical custody of their five-year-old daughter, and requested to have her daughter’s name restored to her name.

The former couple tied the knot in 2009 after meeting on the set of “Step Up”.

A day after the Rs 54,000-crore offer, made by the Essar Steel’s board and shareholders to repay the entire debt of the company, ArcelorMittal on Friday said the Committee of Creditors (CoC) has voted to approve its acquisition plan for the debt-laden steel company.

It also said resolution professional, on behalf of the CoC, has issued the Lakshmi Mittal-led company with a Letter of Intent (LOI) stating that it has been identified as the “successful applicant.”

“Further to ArcelorMittal being named the H1 (highest) resolution applicant (the preferred bidder) on October 19, 2018, Essar Steel India Ltd’s (ESIL) CoC has now approved the Company’s resolution plan for ESIL, with the LOI identifying it as the successful resolution plan,” it said in a statement.

In response to ArcelorMittal’s resolution plan, which includes an upfront payment of Rs 42,000 crore towards bankrupt Essar Steel’s resolution debt, with a further Rs 8,000 crore of capital injection into the company to support operational improvement, increase production levels and deliver enhanced levels of profitability, the Ruias-promoted Essar Steel had offered to repay Rs 54,389 crore to all creditors under section 12A of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).

It also sought withdrawal from corporate insolvency resolution process.

In a bid to take back the control of their asset, the board and shareholders of the Essar Steel had offered an upfront cash payment of Rs 47,507 crore to all creditors, including Rs 45,559 crore to the senior secured financial creditors, i.e. 100 per cent recovery.

Veteran singer Asha Bhosle rues the fact that the music industry nowadays is not producing good music thereby robbing young talent of enough opportunities.

The 85-year-old, whose career spanned more than seven decades, regretted the present music industry scene before the media on Friday here.

“We have lot of young talented singers entering the industry. We are not producing good music nowadays therefore they are not getting enough opportunities to showcase their talent.

“I feel the golden era of music which was in the 1950s, 60s and 70s will never return. We will not have music directors and singers of that level but I think whatever is happening today in the music scene is okay.”

The legendary singer who feels at this point of her career she prefers singing songs of her own choice, has collaborated with the Band of Boys for the ‘Dil Sarfira’ song which is from their upcoming film.

“I don’t like to sing every song which comes my way. And I have been associated with them for a long time. I saw their first stage show and I really liked it. Now, I am really happy that I am part of their song.

“My grandson Chintu Bhosle is part of that band and they have been doing good work over the years. I hope they continue doing good work in future as well.”

It was a misty morning in the national capital on Saturday with the minimum temperature recorded at 15.6 degrees Celsius, while the air quality dipped to “very poor”.

“The sky will remain clear throughout the day,” said an India Meteorological Department official.

With more regions now suffering a “severe or severe-plus” air-quality, the top four most polluted regions in Delhi included Jahangirpuri in north Delhi, Mundaka in west Delhi, Dwarka sub-city in south Delhi and Anand Vihar in east Delhi.

Friday’s maximum temperature settled at 30.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 15.8 degrees Celsius, both one notch below the season’s average.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher has wrapped up shooting of “The Accidental Prime Minister” that is based on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and says history will not misjudge the Congress leader.

Anupam on Friday shared a video, where he is seen donning Singh’s looks and holding the film’s clapboard. He announces that the last shot of the film was taken at 2.40 a.m. on October 27.

“It is a wrap for one of my most cherished films ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. Thank you…for the most enriching times. Thank you Dr Manmohan SinghJi for your journey,” the actor said, who kind of walked in the former Prime Minister’s shoes.

Anupam says it has been “a great learning experience.” “One thing is sure ‘history will not misjudge you’,” he added.

The film is based on a book by Sanjaya Baru, a former media advisor to Manmohan Singh. Akshaye Khanna features as Baru, and Divya Seth Shah plays Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur in the movie.

It is directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, along with Hansal Mehta as the creative producer.

Scripted by Mayank Tewari and produced by Bohra Bros, the film is slated to release on December 21.

Pakistani Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has confirmed death sentences to 14 terrorists belonging to banned militant groups, the military said.

Eight others have been sent to jail by the military courts, the Pakistani Army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement on Friday.

The terrorists were involved in attacks including on the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, killing innocent civilians and destroying educational institutions and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Hotel in the Swat valley.

“They had killed of 22 persons, including three civilians, 19 security personnel and injuring 23 others. They were tried in special military courts where they confessed to their crimes,” Xinhua quoted the statement as saying.

In a significant operation earlier this month, the cyber cell of Delhi Police arrested 24 people who posed as Microsoft tech support staff and duped several US citizens.

This could not have been possible without the the real-time monitoring of cyber crimes by Microsoft’s Digital Crime Unit (DCU) in Redmond that is using Cloud, Big Data, Machine Learning (ML) and Business Intelligence (BI) to improve the security of its products and services, protect vulnerable populations, fight malware, and reduce digital risks.

The real-time data analytics and sharing of key inputs with relevant law enforcement agencies helped bust 10 companies that were illegally running call centres at various places in Delhi that targeted Microsoft Windows users.

“It was real-time monitoring that helped us crack the Delhi gang behind the large-scale tech support fraud. The whole operation has been encouraging in our fight against cyber crimes,” Shilpa Bratt, Director (Shared Services) of Digital Crimes Unit, told IANS.

“We worked closely with our DCU staff in India and Singapore to nail the culprits. I believe there are more such cyber criminals out there and we will up the ante against their sinister plans,” Bratt added.

The cyber criminals impersonated as Microsoft tech support staff after they managed to fraudulently pop up messages on users’ screens that their systems had been affected by malware.

In order to fix the systems, they charged any sum between $100 and $500 from the victims.

According to the Delhi police, incriminating evidence in the form of cheques from customers in the name of Microsoft Tech support, call recordings, virtual dialers, Microsoft Tech support training material, call log transcripts detailing the conversation with victims of fraud, payment gateway records and servers were seized.

According to a Microsoft survey released this month, 68 per cent users in India experienced tech support scams in the past year and some of them (14 per cent) even lost money.

The problem is not limited to India alsone. Tech support scams are a problem worldwide, with three out of five people globally having experienced one in the past year and one in five losing money to fraudsters, according to the “Tech Support Scam Survey 2018” released by DCU.

In 2014, the DCU filed a civil lawsuit in federal court in the central district of California against some companies and related entities in India for unfair and deceptive business practices and trademark infringement.

According to the lawsuit, 3.3 million Americans fall victim to technical support scams annually, losing $1.5 billion.

The scammers claim to find non-existent computer viruses and infections, and then con people out of their hard-earned money for bogus tech support, in addition to stealing personal and financial information or even installing new malicious software.

“At DCU, we are constantly monitoring such scammers. The fight against them will only intensify in days to come,” Bratt noted.

In the last two days, informed Bratt, over 2 billion connected devices were affected with active threats globally and India was at the second spot after Vietnam in the top affected countries.

The data was generated by Microsoft’s real-time “Threat Monitor”.

The DCU – with 22 employees at its Redmond headquarters and 60 overall at 30 offices globally including in India — is working round-the-clock to intercept, analyse and mitigate threats, thus creating a road-map for various industry stakeholders globally to plan relevant actions.

In total, a team of 3,500 professionals at Microsoft is looking at security, built into the company’s products and services, using frameworks such as the security development lifecycle and operational security assurance.

Microsoft’s Cybersecurity Engagement Centre in New Delhi is already empowering organisations with information and techniques to secure critical information infrastructure and help reduce malware and digital risk.

Microsoft, that invests more than a billion dollars a year in security research, innovation and development, reached out to 126 organisations in India last year.

“Our big worry is attacks from nation-state actors as law enforcement is challenged by borders. The cross-border nature of cyber crime has created safe havens for bad actors. We need a stronger global security law to deal with such situations which are increasing by the day,” Bratt emphasised.
